Every year, she could choose to celebrate herself. But instead, she chooses to celebrate with the children who still dream, the girls who still hope, and the families who still believe that life can change.
This week, we honor the birthday of the woman who gave her heart to Tanzania, the founder of CYDAD, a mother, a mentor, a builder of legacies.
For over 20 years, she has carried one vision: to see every child, every girl rise beyond their circumstances.
Since 2005, CYDAD has provided Early Childhood Education to over 640 vulnerable children, ensuring they begin life with hope and opportunity.
In 2009, CYDAD became the first organization in the Coastal Region to advocate for the New Child Policy, reaching 12 wards an effort supported by the Foundation for Civil Society shaping the future of child welfare.
Today, CYDAD continues to stand alongside the Government of Tanzania in implementing the Huduma za Malezi, Makuzi na Maendeleo ya Awali ya Mtoto (MMMAM) 2022–2026, strengthening the nation’s commitment to early childhood care and development.
As we prepare for Ellie’s Day, held in her honor, we commit to supporting a girl child to transition smoothly to Grade One in 2026.
Because this is how she celebrates by giving. And this year, we get to give back.
Let’s honor her story by keeping her dream alive. Your support is more than a donation it’s part of her legacy.
